Too small? Help!

Hey everyone.. Just a quick update on how things are travelling atm. Halfway through week six, the buds are filling out a bit more and it's starting to smell REALLY good in there

 

I up'd the EC to 2.0.. from the 1.8 I was measuring.

 

I've got a few bottom fan leaves suffering from something, not sure what exactly.. doesn't look like they're just dying off naturally though. Could be nute burn? Let me know what you think.

Hi MJ,

That's all natural for your shade leaves. As all the goodness goes to the buds the lower shade leaves brown around the edges, turn yellow and eventually die. Its all natural and there is no need to fret.

Those buds are looking very pretty IMHO. Personally I wouldn't be upping the EC, but thats me. For my setup anything much over 1.7 and I see a marked decline and the final flush takes longer to eliminate that throat burn when ya smoke it up.

Have you got your odour control in place? cos that smell is only going to get better (or worse if you've got nosey neighbours) ?? One of my ex neighbours used to come out in hives from the smell, at the time 1/2 the hood was on the grow so she couldn't just point the finger at me and she ended up moving to get away from it. But remember people can smell it, even if you can't.

But I'd be real happy bout those there buds, very happy indeed.

Hey Merl1n, well that's good news for me

I dropped the EC down to 1.8 last feed, think I'll drop it down again next as well.

Yeah I've had my carbon filter in place since they were little'uns.. but I still notice the smell sometimes when I come home from work (only in my house) the smell doesn't travel outside so it seems.

HAHA really? Hives? That's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time.. but I'm like you, all my neighbours are stoners so it's a good cover

 

So I've just rolled in to week 7, not to much to report really.. I had to tie up some of the colas due to weight and that's about it really.

 

A question to the coco growers out there, how many times do you flush before harvest?

I only flush 2 times...maybe 3, First 100% water flush- about 8 days before harvest then again about 4 days after.

If the plant needs more time that is when I use that 3rd flush.

I have harvested without flushing first- I did not notice a difference in flavour, didn't get sparks etc.

 

I used a 50L pot once, only flushed 1 time, would have bogged it down otherwise.

Guys I think I might have completely fucked my plants, I know the fan leaves are supposed to dry up and die naturally, but I noticed a huge change in them in 24 hours. Every fan leaf is dry, brittle and very dead looking.. I think this is the result of a temp boost, the temp boost being a result of no natural ventilation coming through the room that my growtent is in to take away the heat from the lights, also I left a few more days between feeds than usual.

 

I am in week 8, the pistils are 75% amber, last night after seeing the decreased life in the plants I started my flush with just straight ph'd water. I'm not sure what's going on here so I'll post some pics and see if anyone can hopefully figure it out. I plan on flushing once more in about 4 days, then harvesting maybe 3-4 days after.

Heya Mr Jane =) , hot air must go out, and cool air come in, if not ya just recycling crap air, they dont like it and ya humidity goes nuts. The enviroment is probably to blame more than anything ya doing... gotta fix it up..

Hey Nibbler, thanks for the quick reply man. Yeah you're probably right, conditions have returned for normal (had some family staying over so I had to seal up the room god dammit)

Do you think chances of healthy survival are pretty bad right now?

Take all the dead shit off mate, correct ye ventilation, water em as much as ya can to flush properly, and pull em in a week or so. best option now.

f ya cooked ya roots, they would of fallen over already. Peace, Nibs.

Damn ... lucky I was right at the end of my grow so it's not so bad. Thanks again for the advice. I'll update in a week.

For future reference, if you need to turn the fan off to hide the grow, turn the light off as well.
