Damn... I already done this  lesson learnt lol. When you flush with a re-circulating system wouldn't it be doing the same thing? I mean, when the run off drains back in to the reserviour and is then pumped back in to your feeding rings, wouldn't it just be reflushing with shit water?

Thanks for the tip cultiv8r, I'm a bit worried if I spray them at lights on they would burn during the light period? As for straight water, I haven't been, I've just been letting the coco dry out, flushing (with straight Ph'd water), then feeding.. should I be breaking it up do you think?

Thanks for the reply lads.

These are the pots I use

Its a run to waste system. I make up my nutes and just hand water, waste water goes down the drain. I would like to keep it and feed it to my other plants/vegies but cant with my system.

I find if you water too often you get gnats and the plants get a bit limp and sick, roots dont do aswell. My pots are pretty big and I can go awile between feeds but I let my pots dry well, too atleast how it comes out of the bag. I have had plants in veg get so dry and limp, they look bad as but after a good drink they perk right up again, so dont be afreaid to let them get dry, but I wouldnt get them too dry they stress in flower. Just letting you get an idea of how dry they can get and recover fine.

I just started to foliar feed with H&G foliar. I mainly do it to keep spider mites away. They claim spider mites dont like it or something like that. Also perks them up a bit. I keep forgetting to use it.

1-3 plants, usally 2 now under 600w, did use this under a 400w till I upgraded. All in a 1.2x1.2x2m tent.

Seems like you've got me covered on all angles on this site El :yahoo:

That's a pretty good looking/practical set up.. maybe something to look in to for future grows :twiddle:

I haven't had the problem of nats so far (touch fucking wood) but I also find letting them over dry is much easier to fix than over watering for sure. At one point I let them get so dry they looked terrible (bad parenting I know) but after a good feed and a couple of days they bounced back.. this was in the veg stage.

With this foliar feeding, can I spray them with the Nutrifield A+B? Or do I need a nute specifically for foliar? I'm interested in trying, just a little cautious at this stage.. do your plants end up burning during lights on if they are wet? Nice little set up you have, you SCROG right? What kind of results do you get at the end of each grow?

Cultiv8r just a quick question, what tells you the girls are hungry? I'm not doubting you at all, I would just like to know to build my own knowledge.

Thanks MJ.

I use H&G foliar feed, but dont see a problem with low mix a&b, many have done this. I do this just after lights off, so I am not interupting the light cycle and it will be dry by lights on 11:45hrs or so later, that sorta thing. You will burn your plants if you do it when lights are on, unless its in the last few mins of lights on. I do it when light is off so my bulb cools and I can cover it to not get spray on it and damage the bulb.

I have scrogged but find not I just train them or tie them to the roof or sides of my tent. I usally get just shy of a elbow but sometimes over no matter how many I grow. One in the tent usally gives me the best, tho it is pheno dependent to maybe? Who knows, but what I do know it doesnt matter the number of plants you grow as to how much you yeild, though some cases it helps.

Hmm alright I'll give it a crack tomorrow when lights off goes down. Yeah I thought the intense light plus the liquid would burn them.. is your light not in a cool tube?

Yeah tonight I'm going to tie them down as best I can to spread them out.. an elbow is a decent effort, I read somewhere that a gram per lumenem is possible, ever got to the 600 gram mark before? I'm hoping for a little more than a pound.. the extra 1000watt of light should help :egyptdance:

Thanks for all ya help holmes.

No cool tube here man. though I probably should in summer. I have gotten over 1g per lumenem before with my 400w but only done 2 grows with the 600w. But yeah gotten over 400g a few times with the 400w.

I read somewhere that a gram per lumenem is possible,

Hey MJ

"lumenem"?? Lumen I think you mean. A gram per lumen Ive never heard of before, sure ppl speak of a gram per watt, but comparing lumens to watts is a bit like saying how many grams in a mile. Lumens and watts measure two different things. I have gotten a gram per watt using a 400w HPS years ago. Since then I have increased my wattage dramatically to 4x600w and I haven't been at that gram per watt but the quality, which is what I need, has been excellent compared to the 400w. This improvement in quality could be a number of things as Ive made improvements to my system and techniques over the years and last grow I got 3lb or about 1370 grams under 2400w, so just over 1/2 a gram/watt but as I say Im after quality rather than quantity.

Nice work El it's nice to know it's possible.

G'day Merl1n, haha yeah I did mean watts actually.. never mind me  That is a huge jump in lighting, was it a gradual change over the years? Or did you just do a couple of grows with the 400w and then say fuck it I'm going to extremes? I've always been a quality over quantity person, just in general.. but I'm kind of counting on a decent result to finally get over to Europe and persue my dreams.. so please fellers, cross your fingers for me :yahoo:
