G'day everyone, I think my plants are a bit short considering thier age of 1 month (20cm), they haven't been under 1600W the entire time due to temp issues, for the most part they have all been under the 1000W MH. They are nice and bushy/healthy looking (apart from a few bottom wilted leaves) that I think got this way from me accidentally pouring water on them then sticking them under the lights.

After having a look through here and a couple of other sites, I can't find much, apart from it could be the ph of the water, or maybe heat stress? If anyone can help/offer advice or have had the same issues please do!

2.5ml/l of any standard salt based nute is WAAAAY too much for a plant that age.

If however you're using bunnings branded Hydro nutes, keep it up

What?

Standard Canna is 3ml/Ltr...many folk use that dilution at 4 wks...

That plant looks overwet to me, not overfed but wet feet aint help nobody...EC and pH?

Thanks for the help fellers this one had me worried a bit!

Yeah Matanuska I'm running 1600W in a 2x2x2 tent.

Thanks for the reassurance Frazz :yahoo: I thought i had horribly dwarfed them somehow lol. I don't actually have an EC or PH meter atm (stupid I know) can anyone suggest a meter that is actually decent that i can get of eBay? Sorry the specific nutes I'm using is Nutrifield for coco Part A+B, I was thinking maybe it's a good idea to get another nutrient to help grow a little quicker?

5150 if I was using too strong of a soloution wouldn't there be nute burn on the tips?

G'day jaikai, by wet feet do you mean that i should water less? Sorry as i said i don't have a PH or EC reading for ya.

You NEED pH and EC readings, even using the 2ml or 3 ml recommended doses is not exact enough, well not for my liking anyway.

I use a Truncheon, pricey yes but they work and they last. http://compare.ebay.com.au/like/261079933478?ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes

As for your pH go to an aquirium store and get a test kit for $10. Your pH has to be right for your plant to take up the right nutrients for itself. It makes a big differnece

As for your watering regime " When they need it" How do you tell??

Something ain't right, that plant shud be a darker green, you say 1 month old, is that one month from when you put the bean in, or one month since you put it under 1600w. Under 1600 watt and a month I would be expecting it to be way too big for that pot.

Get your pH and EC under control, then see what happens. And maybe a bigger pot too.

watering issue ... i think jai's on the money ....based on currently available variables. Too much love perhaps jane ? not enough oxygen to the roots perhaps from overwatering and hence the droop .... With your current feeds of nutrients it's likely nitrogen is being locked out because of possibly too wet medium....you should not be observing any low nitrogen effects with your current feeds of nutrients ..... what ph is your feeds and what ec ... i would expect much more green and lush foliage considering current feedings ... do you notice the leaves droop like that often ? perky leaves are happy leaves ... like ...ti..........

Yeah I'd better get on to that I think Merl1n, obviously you get what you pay for, but have you heard of a cheaper EC meter that still does a decent job? I'm really skint this month :crybaby: With the watering regime I just watch the top of the coco, when it's dry on top I give them some more. They've been under the lights for 1 month I mean (I germinated the seeds first), but for majority I only had the 1000mh runnning, I'm pretty sure that could be contributing to thier current condition.

Cultiv8r I took Jai's advice, and quit feeding them so much and let them dry up a bit, I've noticed the leaves on a couple of plants are sticking stright up and look awesome since I done this, the other few are still on the mend, and yeah I was noticing droopy/sad looking foliage prior to this. Like I said to Merl1n I don't actually have an EC or PH meter, so I really can't answer that question. If they do have a nitrogen lock out, should I flush next due water, then re-nute with PH corrected weater? Hooray for boobies :yahoo:
