Hydro and depression!

Recommended Posts

No, I don't think hydro is worse than bush, but smoking might got be helping your depression, regardless of the way it was grown.

I agree with this.

A lot of people are scared of "hydro" because the fact is it's lot stronger than the organically grown weed back in the 60's-70's.

But I believe the THC increase in today's weed has more to do with selective breeding, as it's very possible to grow a tree entirely outdoors that will produce 20-25% THC.

Whatever the case, weed can induce psychosis in some people, the idea that it's totally harmless is nonsense, just as is the idea that it's entirely bad for people.

definitely spot on i think. question is, is the high thc content a contributing factor in mental health issues?

Short answer is yes.

People with certain mental health issues shouldn't smoke it, not strains with high THC anyways.

What makes you think there has been an increase in THC pegz?

Anti cannabis groups like the NCPIC etc. claim this is a fact but the reality is there is zero evidence to back this claim. Many studies show the opposite to be true.

Is that true Mongy? Kind of goes against common sense. I would have assumed the well bred strains we have these days would be purposely loaded with thc, ( at least at lot of them ). But then again you cant put it past nature to know how to do it right all by its self...

Some real stupid info in this thread..... lol

I suffer from depression, have done for years. Its all about finding out what works for you. I find the Sativa dominant strains, great for the depression, but bad if you also suffer anxiety. For the anxiety, a more indica strain is better to mellow you out.

I dont have any strains growin under 22% THC pegz, so ya theory is crap.

I do find that a higher cbd content can help with the overwhelming effect of some higher THC strains, sees to balance it out. anything around 2.5% and higher helps me.

This is evident in use of synthetic Cannabis where all they do is synthesis the THC side....... THC without CBD to balance it can cause problems.

I use myself as the guinea pig, so sometimes its bad, sometimes I nail it..... but takes about a week to figure if its suitable or not.

And I gotta say, smoking cannabis for depression is better than taking a handful of pills and feeling like a non-feeling zombie all the time, thats not a life.

Peace. Nibbler.

Yeah perhaps some of their claims are crap but are you suggesting that the THC content in cannabis hasn't increased over the past 40 years, even slightly? If that's true then the growers and breeders of the world have failed miserably, because that's exactly what many of them have been striving to achieve, i.e, stronger, better and more perfect plants.
