I had a good mate ,knew him for 17 years ,he was a very heavy cannabis user and suffered depression .

He hung himself from his shed about 4 years ago .

Imo you should not use cannabis as a self administered "medical" cure for depression . Seek professional help and talk to friends and family about it .

Most people dont know how serious it can be until it is to late . I wish my mate sat me down and really told me what was going on in his head .

And no hydro wont melt your brain any faster then stuff grown the way mother nature intended .

Naycha hit the nail on the head .

Hi Fatchops,I have had Deep depression for over 6 year's now ,an have been priscribed {Pistiq=Desvenlaxine} for the past year.

I have had no trouble with smoking pot while taking my normal medication.

My normal medication is,

1/Jurnista 16mg.=Morphine slow release tabs.5 Dic Prolapse's,Sciatica,Neurogenic Pain,

2/Pristiq 50mg.= anti Depressant.

3/Methotrexate.= for Rhumatoid arthritis,Osteoarthritis,Seronegative Arthritis,

4/Duotrav & Alphagan eye drops,-for Glaucoma in both eye's.

5/Solone 5mg=for the 3 diffrent Arthritis.

6/Panadol Osteo 665mg.

I have to take these meds an dont have any trouble with side effect's from smoking or vaporizing cannabis.

I grow Indica cannabis strain's that are straight indica or Indica dominant if they have sativa in them.

The Indica settle's me down more than the sativa an the indica Dom strains with high C,B,D content are the best for chronic pain.

It would be best if you grow your own weed as then you will know that it is flushed out proply befor harvest an dont use any crap growth enhancers an you will end up with some very nice bud's at harvest time for yourself.

Some Sativa Indica crosses have high C,B,D, in them as well.

Do some more reading on the diffrent strains an an what ppls are using for depression.

Hope this has helped you with your quest for the best pot for your medication.

Regard's Dingo-2008.

You asked do we THINK it's worse than bush for depression. My answer is a definite YES. I've been saying that hydro makes me grumpy and depressed whereas outdoor has the opposite effect for about 25 years now. If I have a big smoke of hydro, i wake up feeling like crap the next morning, easily upset and not very happy in general. Bush on the other hand, I wake up happy, full of life and still a bit buzzy. All my over-40 friends smoke outdoor when it's around. The young-uns still like the look and smell of the indoor. I'll probably get shouted down for saying this but........... Hydro gets me very baked, for about 30 mins, then I need another smoke which never works as well as the first. I seem to get a tolerance to hydro very quickly. Good bush, on the other hand, gets me nice and baked for up to 4 hours and each subsequent smoke works as well as the first. Just what I've found after decades of self-experimentation. I can't really say more without getting myself into trouble but, I have people very interested in the health and wellbeing of my plants as opposed to the commercial stuff (usually hydro) getting around.

PS.

Jurnista is Hydromorphone, not Morphine. It's a much much better painkiller. Morphine's one of the worst I've tried.

^^^^Dude, your talking about different strains, not outdoor & indoor. If you grow a certain strain outdoors, then grow the same strain indoors, you’ll see they smell and look exactly the same.

The whole “bush” & “hydro” thing is a scam! It’s just a term people use to off load there shit weed as good old “bush”

this^^^^ you most likely eat more of then than you'd think

I really don't think this is a fair comparison. You're not consuming tomatoes trying to stuff a few select chemicals from the product to your brain to start with. The brain and the chemicals within are where depression is. You grow hydroponically to get the best out of the plant right? The best of a tomato plant is a sweet tasting large fruit. The best of a cannabis plant is a sweet tasting, large...POTENT....bud.

I'm thinking that the original poster is probably referring to the general impression that hydro is stronger than bush. Or, that hydro bought dealer weed is often poorly flushed and very chemically. I definitely concur on this one.

If any of you guys disagree, you've been growg your own for too long and haven't been subjected to the under ripe, under cured, wet, chemical tasting dealer weed that is rampant in Australia.

Hydro grown properly......sure it'd be similar, but in my experience there is no way it's the same as outdoor which has had a full natural cycle.

But I don't think properly grown, flushed and cured hydro is any worse than bush. Just a little different.

All this is based off my experience over the last 10 years.
