Light Emitting Plasma (LEP)

Recommended Posts

There are L.E.P. lights on the market for growing. (Light Emitting Plasma) . Gavita do a compact unit for growers, as do a few other companies now.

They must be supplimented by HPS to get more red into the spectrum. They work by bombarding a small amount of Sulphur Plasma or similiar with microwaves.

They are extremely efficient and have the most output in Lumens of any grow light, also the closest to natural sun light.

LEP are still a tad on the expensive side, but this is the future..... LED's are a waste of time, they tried for 20+ years, still cant nail it.....old tech now.

Can't wait till these come down in price, dying to try one........... Peace. Nibbler.

Surfing the net today and found a great thread on LEP (http://www.cinematog...showtopic=51884)

It focuses on stage lighting and LEP for cinema but there some great info there about the technology.

Cheers

(Ps.. Sorry mods if linking to other threads breaks any rules, just thought it was some great info :) )

Great info, yeah Im very keen on seeing plasma Tech Develop, hopefully it wont be too long before they are an affordable option.
