In todays age of digital technology,we have a wide range of gizmo's that leaves us spoilt for choice.From fans,timers,ballasts,to the complete enviroment controllers,depending on how much coin you want to spend.

 

Making our grow area's easier to maintain a healthy and consistant enviroment, the biggest and most recent change being in the step towards digital ballats,First just digital,then mh/hps compatable with a dimmer feature.

Now Matrix (Solis-Tek) have the 600/1000w digiballas,now most digital ballasts on the market are "regular digital" solis-tek are "true or full digital" ballast,and are bringing out the new model shortly.

Big deal you say ,and i did too.

 

What got me first was the novilty item .. the remote controll

whitch you can turn from 400-1040w (solis boost) while the bulb is on,plus few others

 

Other thing that really grabbed me was ....the built in timer...

next model will have a sensor that reads temp in room, so you can programme the system to turn lamp down if room gets above your setting ..

 

from the remote you can controll (from pre set modes) 12/12,18/6,ect,lighting.. push the button stlye from out side your room.

Has no fans in the unit.

If you want to run more then one ballast at once,Sequential Lamp Ignition - lamps fire up One-at-a-time, for maximum efficiency in electrical draw upon startup. no more spikes/surges. prevents circuit breakers from overloading.

 

Runs HPS,MH & Sunpulse digital PSMH lamps

 

the solis boost will only over drive the lamp by 5%(for every w lamp,ect 400/420w..600/630w..1000/1040w)

 

It has a hour meter,so you can tell how long your blubs have run

I got one too and love it.

 

You said everything I would say about it and got it for the reasons I did too. My thoughts were if I was to upgrade and get a couple of these down the track, the timing and ignition system is an awesome advantage.

 

Its an awesome bit of kit (as they say.....)

I was thinking this of buying a new ballast soon and I have narrowed it down to three manufacturers, Lumatek, Solis Tek & Quantum

 

I am impressed with the digital timer and remote features. What I really want is a unit that can do 400/600/1000, multi purpose as its cost is ok.

 

What I am wanting to know is a 1000watt globe going to cover all settings or am better off utilizing the different bulbs I already have 400/600, in other words will one 1000watt bulb handle different wattage settings if so is this good for bulb performance on the Matrix?

No you need to get a globe to match the watts you want to run.

No you need to get a globe to match the watts you want to run.

 

I don't own one but afaik the Matrix ballast can run a 1000W globe at all settings. It is recommended to use a digital ballast specific globe.

Just got to get Company in U.S to take my mula and send it me one now, found for 290inc freight to here.

 

Just setting up a proper Clone Machine atm(hope this takes grief out of cloning) which I hope work's, I will post picks and new post later this week after my trip to clark & Bunnings.
