slow growing autos?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and gals i'm back :)

Currently having a crack at x2 autos, northern lights and purple, There outdoor from 6am and brang inside around 5pm, then put under 1 30w cfl (24/0 pretty much) only really bringing them inside until it warms up a little at night

Germination went great, but now there growing really slowly,(i reckon anyway) never really dealt with auto before but there really struggling to get there second set of leaves?(there showing but ever so slowly coming out) tomorrow would be week 2 from germination,

Mix is a 50/50 perlite with big w premium potting mix, 1 inch layer coco balls on the bottom, layer of top sand (bloody gnats), watering with plain tap water ph'd to 6.5 (digi ph meter) letting sit for minimum couple of hours before watering, Any ideas what i could be doing wrong? or am i being abit to paranoid?

cheers all, any suggestions drop them my way :)

edit: i could have a fungus gnat problem aswell, Added some sand yesterday as a top layer nd gave a dilute watering with added H202, i hope the gnats haven't gotten in to early and done some damage, i know there around as i repotted my grossee lisse recently and was covered in gnat larvae :(

Yet to see an auto do well in soil...I don't doubt it's possible, but still yet to see it.

Auto's like DWC & Coco Coir or Perlite to grow in...Soil tend to be too restrictive to the tap root.

If that tap root runs into one of those big bark pieces like in your photo then that will do it.

They look healthy and they are not stretching, so the amount of light and the nutes in the soil are ok.

My guess is the rather restrictive growing medium, and yeah always treat for gnats regularly....At this stage they are not overerally damaged IF gnats are a problem.

Reason I say that is because they are still a nice shade of green.

There are a hell of a lot of shitty gentics in some Auto's being sold too. I had a Maxi-Gom that looked just like your plant...Maybe a little bigger for her age,,, then bang at the 3 week mark she took off, and ended up producing 90 grams of bloody good smoko.

So hang in there, Dude

yeah give one of them a go.

Coco is the easiest and less hassle, but there is no reason why they won't do even better on DWC.

Personally I'd like to see how they go on DWC.

Someone here can't remeber who it was did an auto grow on DWC, but the diary finished before they got in full flower

but they were kicking arse in the beginning.

This is my DWC tomato, Pretty keen to rip her out and transplant one of the autos...what do yas reckon? if i did this, Would use recommend keeping it outside or keep it inside? i only have 1 30w cfl and a small fan i use for at night in the laundry cupboard, grosse lisse doesn't look to happy in the pic as its about 1 hour after tranplanted from soil,

i have a spare smaller netpot could put that next to the tomato sortof speak and see how it go's ....thinking the roots could get tangled easy but :Z

on another note.....autos are looking healthy still....but havent grown bugger all i'll chuck up a pic would be 2-3 days since last time
