I was wondering if anyone could give me some info on plant color, I have a new born, about 2 weeks old and "she" has really dark green leaves- is that a good thing, does that give any clues on what kinda stain it is, or if it is healthy, its beeing grow outside, weather is around 77 for a high and 65 as a low, fair skies. I have been watering her now around every 3 days. What i dont understand is, this new one i have looks healthy, and the steem is about as thick as a straw. but i have another plant, whos 3 and half weeks old, who steam is about as thick as a sewing pin, she doesnt look to healthy, and doesnt seem to be getting any bigger, why is this, both plants are in the same soil, High COMPose. And i have feed them the same, and there in the same stop recieceing the same amount of light. The one that doesnt look as healthy also has developed a little yellow on one of the leaves. Both plants are in pots that are 6inches in diameter. btw, how can i ensure that my pots are draining well enough.

Dark green is fine but it doesnt mean its healthier than a light green plant always. The yellowing may be from dying roots if you arent letting it dry out 'enough'.

You shouldnt be using nutrients at all and its good to use no heavy fertilizer also for the first 3 or 4 weeks in soil. 3 days sounds about right for watering times but if youve fed the plant at all then flush it today and tomorrow then let it settle for a few days and itll probably start shooting new growth again.

It is a pain to sprout seedlings in soil but youll find a nice soil and watering/feeding regime if you keep up the good work. :D

PS. try Jiffy pots next time [most growers will know what you mean] - theyre compressed peat discs that expand into a perfect medium to grow a seed in.
