First grow SE Qld

Recommended Posts

Hey All

This is my 1st grow in a new state (SE Qld), any localised & general advice & comments greatly appreciated

These seeds have been in between 2 - 3 weeks, currently sitting in basic potting mix & a blend from my compost (dirt/ash/b'n'b/broken down organic matter), getting about 8 hrs of direct sunlight a day with a bit of water every couple days. Seeds are random from a previous crop that (apparently) smoked very well. Certainly it smelt delicious when I harvested & trimmed

I'll probably grow them like this till a 3rd or 4th node, then they're going in the ground ( external plot with excellent grade dirt, shady near creek with approx 6 hrs direct sun a day ). Planning on feeding with a brew not dissimilar to Chrons super sauce

Any tips for this region? I'd love to hear from you via post

Cheers, Z

Welcome to ozstoners.

For the vegative state of the plants you need 18 hours roughly of grow time before they flower.

If they are only going to get 6 hours of light a day they will flower up quickly and produce bugger all on them.

Have a read through cannaversity and ppls grow dirary and you will gane a lot better understanding and get better plants in the end...

cheers for the welcome all.

@ ozzy420 - They'll get plenty of light, that's all good (sorry I maybe mis-represented there - it's just I'm considerate of burn in direct sunlight here)

@ mavs - no fertilizer early for me, seedlings shouldn't need, just good mix in the pot to get 'em going. Secrets? there aren't any, just trial & error over years as most will know. This looks like a pretty reasonable site for info, do the reading as oz suggests we can always be learning bro

@ Kush' - big ups on that chopper call, I'm all good where I am unless they're using some serious thermal imaging or somesuch. But I am fully aware, come froma region where they wiped many of us out with those machines, they used to winch cops & sometimes soldiers in to remote plots & rip & burn.

Keep me in the loop, thanks all I'll try to keep a post how it's going. & chill pill everyone :afro:

Well as I understand the seasons.....If ya drop em in now the days will only get longer as we come out of Winter.

Even with 12 hours or less of light and it doesn't have to be direct sunlight Photo plants won't flower for at least 5 weeks from birth.

If anything they will be monsters by the time summer ends and the days are short enough again for the flower show.
