No Bail For Men In Drug Swoop

Seven men arrested after another major marijuana bust in the region were refused bail at a Dubbo court the weekend.

The men, aged from 25 to their mid-50s, were arrested on Friday when police swooped on a property at Balladoran, 50 kilometres north of Dubbo.

Between 3000 and 4000 cannabis plants were discovered growing on the property, with an estimated street value of $7 million.

The plants ranged in size from 1.5 to 2 metres in height and were described by police as "very healthy".

Each plant was individually irrigated and mulched, with black plastic wrapped around the base.

The property, 'Heatherbrae', has been under surveillance for some weeks and police believe it is linked to other cannabis crops found in the area recently.

It was the third major drug bust in the western region in six weeks, with police netting more than $80 million worth of cannabis after raids at Mendooran, Tullamore and now Balladoran.

Orana Local Area Command Superintendent Ian Lovell said it was believed the crop was part of an organised crime syndicate with links to other drug-growing properties discovered in recent weeks.

"Farms of these sizes seem to be being used for crops in the area - this was a big business operation," he said.

Mr Lovell also indicated the seven men arrested at the Balladoran property were likely to be workers.

"That's the way it has been done with other crops - the workers are paid a pittance while the principals profit from the enterprise," he said.

The seven men arrested at the Balladoran property will appear in Dubbo Local Court today.

They run this world because money is God. They have more of it than anyone else and want to keep it that way. Pot threatens to change the entire global economy. Only a public uprising could force a change and that is unlikely to happen so long as they control the media. Why do you think they are looking so hard for evidence of brain damage, psychosis or addiction related to smoking?
