6 cooltubes what fan ?

Recommended Posts

may i ask why you need odor control for a cool tube? the cool tube technically isnt sucking air out of the grow room is it?

correct me if im wrong but doesnt the inlet of the cool tube come from the outside of the grow room and the exhaust from the cooltube get blown out of the grow room also?

and doesnt that mean you would need a seperest inlet and exhaust for the actual grow room?

again correct me if wrong lol just not sure why you have odor contol on it...

peace matey

How many watts are you going to be running in each tube?

I think it would be more efficient to pull air through the tubes rather than push it. If you use a Y splitter and hook up 3 tubes to each side of the splitter there will be less heat build up than sucking through 6 tubes in a row.

I'd guess the fan will be big enough but haven't done it myself so that's only a guess.

Yes thats what I come to as well , a Y splitter and 3 a side , much more efficient .

Yes Jadcla the air is coming in from one end of the grow room and exhausting out the tubes taking the smell and the heat of the lights with it , what I think I will do is use a 1mtr x 250ml Carbon Cannister that I have at one end of the room , then go a 250 Max Fan on top of that pulling room air , the filter works like a muffler as well , then from the fan through a Y splitter down each side of 3 tubes and straight outside , no soks needed because the carbon filter is at the beginning , I dont like the idea of pulling really hot air through the tubes and then into the fan , its got to effect fan lifespan I would reckon it would be bloody hot , so would rather pull through the filter and push through the tubes .

The room has passive intake at the far end opposite the cannister site , its like a room inside a much larger room like a tent , most tents have the heat extraction and air exchange as 2 parts , I want to use the cooltube extraction to run the whole show .

seems feasable ?

Cheers

thats the optimum set up jadcla, thats how i run mine but most people simply pull the air straight from inside the grow so they dont have to fork out for more fans it works probably just as well i guess.

also pushing air is going to be less effective as naych said and as soon as you add that carbon filter your going to be reducing the effectiveness of the fan aswell.

really though you are dropping the cash and setting up a room with 6 lights, thats a fairly serious grow imo, i think if your making that kind of investment why not drop another $600 and get 2 more fans. dont skimp on ventilation, its just as important as light imo
