55w PL-L? who uses them?

Hey guys, I want to know if anyone here has made their own PL-L fixture.

 

I'd like to give one a go.

 

Now I know where to get 240v 55w PL-L's with 2g11 bases.

I just need to help with finding sockets (easy enough) but more importantly the type of ballasts that I can use.. From what I see, workhorse don't come in 240v for out circuits.

 

I will be using 4x 55w PL-L's (220 watts) intially and will then add 4 more to make it in total 8x 55w PL-L's equalling 440 watts

 

Tips for people who have made their own setup is greatly appreciated. thankyou!

 

Oh one more thing.. for a flowering cabinet using PL-L's. Is it better off to use like 1x 6500k PL-L and 3x 300k PL-L or just go 2 of each spectrum? I think 1:3 would be best but other opinions are welcome.

You can use the 230 watt Fulham ballasts. Depending on how many bulbs u want to run you'll want either the wh8-230l or wh5-230-l

 

I haven't been able to find an oz supplier of these. My mate sends them over from the states. If u do find them local let me know.

hey man, are you sure you can use them?? i didn't think they came in the 230/240v. I think its safer to get a pair from the UK as they are 230v and can be used here, same with the bulbs. the one I saw which looked useful is the philips HFP style ones

I talked to the fullham guys who said the 230 versions are fine for us to use here. This is one of the products they directed me too.

A friend of mine used 4 x 55w in a small cab and yielded 5.5 ounces from it . The threads over at another forum. Not a bad effort i thought.
