Luke, I too tried the Zippo approach to the bongs and reacted similiar to what you did, retching me guts up everywhere. Oily aftertaste?? Not for me...

I've used a zippo for nearly every bong ive smoked, i dont even notice the taste, good for windproofing and the flame is never to small
