Seeds going missing - East Coast Aus.

Recommended Posts

I'll send them an email but I guess its just another thing we have to deal with. When ordering seeds we really only have the choice between -

A. Ordering seeds with free stealth and risk them not being sent/crushed/confiscated;

B. Airsure which now looks like postal workers have worked out can contain valuables;

C. Signature on delivery and risk having a face put to the name/record of delivery.

I think I'll be using the 'gift' option from now on, could always do with a few more souvenirs :)

Have always thought it was in the postal service. Why? Because the number of 'customs' issues are rarely mentioned & seeds keep on vanishing. But the tracking issues hadn't occurred until this thread got me thinking.

Having said that, I have never used tracking & still lost orders??

Maybe it IS Customs tho & we don't get hassled because they're too small an amount to bother about or....THEY knock them off!!! Perhaps it's all of the above or...............

I guess we'll never know.

I'd strongly recommend we all make more seeds! lol

Katt - If you go to the australia post webiste and enter the airsure tracking number there it should give you tracking details.

Ah, cheers. :)

Just as an aside from seeds. I have twin cousins that I send birthday cards to every year. From my old address in Melbourne they live in Cranbourne Vic. Last year only one cousin got the card. Turns out the postie was stealing envelopes to see what he could get, not just card envelopes, random envelopes.

I've had dodgy posties in the past too. Yes, plural. :faint:

It's a sad state of affairs when you can't trust your mail carrier. <_<

i worked as a postie for awhile...rest assured every single bit of your mail gets sorted by hand at some point...as frazz said right before they get delivered to your door ...every single one...just depends who is sorting them ,and how quick they are..as to how long they handel each one...

and yes there are theives in aus post....one got caught when i was there ..had half a room full of mail at his house...used to nail the cards,as they had coin in them most times...not hard to figure out when ya got 5 cards for the same place on same day ,must be a Bday in the house....

yes i found packages ...stinking of cannabis ,could even feel the buds in one..dont worry they got to where they were goin ,should seen the face on the young feller after i handed it to him with a chuckle and a wink...

When they did catch the thief,they threw the book at him ..fedral offence...last i herd was lookin at 2-5 yrs..

also a fedral offence to not deliver junk mail contracted to aus post ..so he got pinched for that too
