Removing chlorine from tap water

Recommended Posts

I've never owned a EC meter! Using reservoir recirc topped up with tap water and an educated guess with nuts. Then drain to waste once a fortnight. A lot of my success due to decent nuts (Dutch Fest oz made) and Bounce Back for rot, disease. My cocktail balances ph

They say discovery often accident. Ive used foam boxes for res. and pots for years. Which seems to filtrates chlorine which osmosis through box accumulates as powdery residue.

Also heard rev. osmosis takes essential minerals as well?

Although when I used filtered d bud was super sticky! Can't wait to doing even better in future.

the only problem with r.o or other filtration systems is that nutrient manufacturers design their nutrient profiles for their base nutes based on the geographic location the nutrients are manufactured at ...... the problem with this is that when you use a r.o/filtration system you will remove the calcium/magnesium that is already in the water..... manufacturers make their nutes with this in mind (that there is calcium and magnesium already in it). You may find that you have magnesium deficiencies faster with r.o/filtered water, many who use r.o water add calmag regularly to accomodate for the loss of Ca/Mg in the filtered water....... (mostly the magnesium - canna loves it!)

just my 2 cents,

peace,

What indoor said is spot on.

I've thought of using a r.o system, but you gotta keep in mind it takes out all the good stuff too. My Ec is .45-.48 and Im okay with that, if it were double I'd use a r.o for sure and add some calcium and magnesium :)

Chlorine won't harm your plants, as it desipates when it kills things like bacteria and the like. It's probly a good thing
