Removing chlorine from tap water

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

This may sound pretty noob but just wondering do you guys bother with this and besides expensive filters whats the best way of doing it in the past i've normally just leave the water in an open bucket for a day then add nutes after and away she goes, but there isn't much i can find on this subject most people just say to use purified or filtered water but i'm on a buget here.

Kind regards

Michael

Chlorinated water is what I use also but the water sits in a 200ltr barrel with an airstone

My understanding is that the chlorine breaks down to a gas hence the chlorine smell and if you leave the water for a day the gas dissipates, the airstone aids in circulating the water.

I must admit it isn't anything Ive worried about as my nutes recommend using tap water.

im using rain water becase my tap water ec read .8 to 1 ec wich is very high. it is a pain to have to fill up couple hundred litres every week then cart it home again :bongon:

Ouch! Yeah I would catch rain water if my ec was like that, thankfully my water supply has an ec of <0.1. the benefit of being so close to the source.
