hey, my friend has given me 2 plants, ones a runt thats lost most of its leaves, and another 30cm one which we think is a hermie...its got these little bud things that look like male flower thingos.... with a red hair coming out of it...can someone please tell me what this is thankyou in advanced :: ill try and get a pic... blazin are they outside plants? if they are then they have gone into regrow..or if they are inside and your little white hairs(stamens?) have gone brown then you have fucked the light period...

mm still seekin help...its like a little pod thing the size of say 3mm wide and 6mm long...they are mainly at the top of the plant and they have like a browny red hair tip thing coming out of it about 2mm long...i picked one off and it smelt strongly of nice bud hehe Edited February 11, 2004 by BlazinMarty

I think if its got a hair sticking out then its a good chance its a female or hermi. I have not seen male flowers with a hair yet.

Budwaver, does every single plant in Australia have a problem with reversion this year? Sorry man, just seems like that's an answer you've been giving out a few times lately...don't mind me.

 

If it has hairs, which begin as white and turn red after a while, then it's a female. These are the receptive stigmas. The male flower is very different, with a distict flower appearance and yellow stamens full of pollen which are enclosed by the petals.

 

Stoned again has pointed out the male photo here, if you do a search or look through the forums you should find some shots of female flowers too... actually, I'll include a shot of a female flower cluster, (a bud... ) in early development, which should look similar to your flowers if they're female.

 

The male flowers are also differentiated from the females before they open by the short stalk they develop at their base, whereas female flowers are never stalked, always either attached directly to the stem or whorled together in a flowering top.

yeppers stamens ahoy....seen a fair number flower then veg then flower then veg then flower..and now veg again....and have seen 6 different strains do it...isnt the greatest summer
