I am unsure if i should be giving straight ph adjusted water in between feeds with coco .

So feed with nutes and next feed with just water or nutes /nutes /water etc. Or just feed with nutes .

Does feeding nutes every feed lead to nute burn or just means more regular flushing .

Cheers

Feed everytime with coco and get 30% run off each time

Never flush with straight phed water unless you are final flushing and not wanting to reuse the coco. You kill benifical bactiria and cause lockouts and deficintcies in the future. Start off light on the nutes and work up.

If you water the way Token JJ suggested, you'll be clearing the medium of wastes and resetting the pH and EC to the appropriate range each time... regular feeding + enough runoff = nothing to flush out.

For the last week or so before chopping I give the plants plain water... small runoff and I don't bother adjusting the pH. There's no actual flushing with water, twice (or whatever) the volume of the media, unless I accidentally pour the wrong shit on a plant and it's a case of flush or die.

Coco is similar to soil but also similar to hydro. You never run straight water in hydro unless there is a problem or its final flush. Nutes like Canna and H&G have alot of additives, especially when you do add zimes and what not. Plain water just kills these as they are designed to live in a perticular enviroment. Coco is a very funny media in the way it holds things and buffers itself, hence why if you stray from coco nutes you run into all sorts of problems.

Very important to get the run off each time as what you do is (if you dont over feed) give the plant enough fresh nutes that it can use every time and rinse away the unused/waste nutes. Start afresh every time so to speak.

Heya badseed =) , I flush with straight PH adjusted water, all PH in coco will rise naturally, so I feed at 5.8-6 PH and flush with plain water at PH 5. have found that after flushing wth plain water, I leave em for a day, then hit em up with a Nute mix. so say ya PH rises from 5.8-6 to around 6.5-7 over the week, when ya flush with the PH5 water ya bring it back within acceptable range.

The water if from tap must be let sit for 12-24 hours with the lid off to evaporate excess chlorine.

Plants need some chlorine, but not us much as we need to keep our water drinkable.

Minerals etc bind to the coco and it is important to flush them regularly. You can't flush old salts etc with nuted mix and expect it's going to flush much.

Putting plain water through gives these wastes something to bind to. Also if ya run big pots, using nuted water to flush costs $$$$$

Everbody flushes differently, but coco is nothing like soil, that is the biggest mistake people make with it. It looks like it, and thats where the similarity ends. It is a hydro medium.

I never have to flush too much as long as I'm not driving them too hard, 10-15% run off at feeds, but for a proper flush with water at LEAST the volume of the pot as run off. And when flushing at end of harvest, ya flush them as much as they can handle. Not flushing properly before harvest will mean the plant still has some nutes etc in it and give a lower quality smoko.

best of Luck. Peace. Nibbler.
