Another Big Bust

THREE men were charged with drug offences after police discovered cannabis crops with a potential street value of $16 million in South Australia's mid-north.

 

About 6000 marijuana plants were discovered yesterday growing hydroponically in sheds and buildings on a property at Bower, about 25km north of Eudunda, a police spokesman said.

 

Three men ? a 35 year-old from Brownlow, a 41-year-old from Athol Park and a 31-year-old from Prospect ? had been charged with cultivating cannabis for sale, the spokesman said.

 

He estimated about 640,000 street deals of cannabis had been prevented by the discovery, made by police after a routine assault inquiry about 4pm CDT yesterday.

 

Meanwhile, a "significant" amount of drugs were seized and a 31-year-old man from Adelaide's eastern suburbs charged with drug offences during a separate police raid yesterday.

I think I saw this one on the news either last night or this morning...

 

Looked like 1 x 2m flood and drain tables with expanded clay and about halfway through budding sog plants. Looked like a seriously high density....

 

All of them were rather ratty tho, nute burned and sick looking. Perhaps this was their first....

 

Apparently they had moved one of the tables with plants away from the place a couple days before... I think this is the same story... Not sure now...

 

If that was 40mill's worth of drugs then I've grown several billion.

true luke about 40million worth of weed but the way the goverment see it it had a estimated value of 40 mill when completed thats how fuc.ed they are wouldnt have a clue i could be wrong but that wasnt 40 million sitting there there was still alot of hard work before that

Still, I would always take any figures given by police as to the value of the drugs they take very, very sceptically.

I know I'm not alone when I say that it seems like a bloody big waste of time and tax money when cops shut down growers when the mr Bigs behind it all walk free. They only make it hard for smokers to get their hands on weed and in turn make growing their own a more attractive option. And that would in turn make it much easier to deal, because if more people grow then they don't have to hit up guys they know for ounces, it would be there grown by them for them, and if growers continue to get busted like that then sooner or later someone is gonna step in to supply the demand and them pesky porkers will be back to square one.

Heck, the Netherlands didn't decriminalise mj use just so that mail sent from there would come under greater scrutiny.
