Aussie's Outdoor Super Soil Recipe

Recommended Posts

You're right, the ratio is mentioned lol. Silly me!

I bought the following:

  • Osmocote Plus Organic - Potting & Planting Mix 2 x 25L
  • Hortico 25L Garden Compost 1 x 25L
  • Manure Fine Farm 25l Poultry 1 x 25L
  • Yates 5kg Blood And Bone Based Garden Fertiliser 1 x 5kg
  • Manutec 1kg Epsom Salt 1 x 1kg
  • Richgro 5kg Natural Dolomite Lime 1 x 5kg
  • Brunnings 5 Litre Perlite  2 x 5L
  • Hydrocloral Clay Balls xxx

I'll have to go get another bag of Compost. Might even need another bag of mix and compost to make 3 each all up.

I'm having a lot of trouble sourcing worm castings, I'm not sure I will be able to get some (Will have to look into starting my own farm.)

Haven't bothered with coco fibre. Not sure if that's important. (Is this it? http://www.bunnings.com.au/basket-liner-brunnings-5l-coconut-fibre-30350_p2910194) If so I will need 2-3 bags of it.

Definitely going to look into starting my own farm. It will be for next season though.

I just finished mixing up my soil. I hope I have the ratio's decent enough. I'm not sure on the Lime/Salt/Blood n Bone bits.

50L Mix

50L Comp

40L Coco

10L Perlite

25L Manure

2Kg Castings (on their way from ebay)

Gives me 177L total. I probably won't need it all.

I added 40g of Salt, 300g Lime and 300 Blood n Bone.

Since I'm planning some auto's I will have a separate mix that wont be so hot, sitting at the top of the pot. I plan in going from jiffy pot straight to this mix.

I'll have some worm tea to feed and PH'ed water.
