ventilation conversion

Recommended Posts

So i looked up the canaversity calculator, and it said for my cupboard to ventilated 49 cubic feet a minute,

1 cubic foot =28 litres, so 49x28=1372L per minute.

Is that correct because to me it aeems very excessive, j was gonna put an 8" centrifugal fan on both the inlet and outlet of my box. But there around 350L a minute...

Help? Please.

Ok 1 cubic ft isn't 28L , area is only 30cm x 30cm x 30cm. so must be off. 2.8L sounds more reasonable. Fans flow is measured in cubic feet per minute (CFM). so ya got the cubic feet measurement of ya room/area, just find a Centrifugal to match.

So if ya room is say 128 cubic feet, then ya need a fan that can move that in under 2 minutes, so a smaller 150mm centri would do the job easily.

Mate ya dont need an intake fan really, just let the intake be passive and run a nice fan on the exhaust side, save ya 50% as well. lol.

Ya need to exchange the air completely a couple of times in 5 minutes. Need good ventilation but dont spend what ya dont need to, these are tough economic times...... lol . Peace. Nibbler
