hey tonefish you should think about using those sticky yellow traps to monitor the fungus gnat population around your plants. doing this might prevent another outbreak from happening.
if you just see 1 or 2 gnats stuck to the trap every now and then it's not a problem. but if you see the numbers begin to climb, you can take prevetative action by treating the media again.
