University of Tas - Cannabis Research

Recommended Posts

There was another one on there that just came to mind.. 'In recent times, how many cones do you get from one gram?'

why in recent times? If they want to see how many cones you get out of a gram, why not get them mean volume of a cone, and extrapolate the number of cones that can be packed from one gram.

Not everyone packs the same cone, not everyone's cone pieces are the same size, some people mix cannabis with tobacco or non-tobacco mix so the amount of cannabis is going to vary per cone. the researchers can't assume any of this stuff. Also 'in recent times' - people's use can change over time so they are keen for you to think back over the last few months when answering. It's seen as easier to answer a question 'in recent times' than just generally.

We cannot openly speak about what we do for fear of prosecution, so taking surveys is one small way of getting us closer to one day having the laws changed and the stigma removed.

Glad you made this point brick. We researchers see it this way - as we can collected anonymous data, then we can talk about the stories in those data publicly. Assuming we are asking the right questions we can then use this as evidence for problems with the law or issues of inequity. Of course we can also use research data to continue the status quo... so I understand why many people are skeptical of researchers' intent.

I think there is healthy degree of skepticism in the cannabis community, but hopefully people can try not to be so skeptical as to rule out opportunities to made things better :)

In the course of the most recent two years, there has been a push to make cannabis accessible for medicinal purposes. This has brought about changes to the enactment administering cannabis development and the utilization of 'Restorative cannabis' at both State and Elected levels, and the NSW government favoring three clinical trials. This introduction will cover the general impacts of cannabis on the cerebrum, how cannabis and 'cannabis culture' has changed throughout the most recent 50 years, and how to weed out truth from fiction in the therapeutic cannabis talk about.
