250w hps

Hey guys,

 

Been awhile since i've posted! I have a some questions to ask;

 

I've found http://www.ausponics...t-growlush.html this HPS which is the difference of getting 2x 130w 2700k CFL or 250w HPS to going along with my already bought 130w 2700k. I'm wanting to hit 300-400w

 

I don't have the biggest height (approx.1m) growbox. I am looking around for wardrobes, dressers if needed..

 

What are my best choice for 2-3 plants including heat? and where do you get the best prices for a 250w HPS??

are you wanting to veg or flower with that hps? you can veg with it, but its better for flowering

truth be told, ive only ever used hps for flowering so would say go with hps, but it's coming from a position of limited experience. i'm sure someone else will have a better idea.

Hey cured, hps will always give u a superior result over fluro with same wattage, gro-lush will be the cheapest ballast available but also the least efficient ,I'd never recommend buying gear off the net though ,it's a huge risk. Save up a little more cash and buy a digital dimmible ballast, it will give u some flexibility and may save u cash for years to come...peace...devil..

Where woud you buy it from then? Local hydro store is pretty outdated

Heya Cured =), mate get a 125-150mm cooltube to go around ya 250wer HPS, run a computer style fan, seperate intake and outlet for it with ducting.....sweet.

You can veg with HPS too, you get a lil more space between the internodes, but thats about it.

Ya dont need to get all fancy shmancy with that size grow. Normal magnetic ballasts are all I use, JB ballasts been a standard in Australia for donkeys years.

If ya got the cash , yeah go the digital ballast, but if ya haven't dont panic, magnetic ballasts work well.

Can order from Ebay and shit mate, just make sure the quality is ok. I'd go this 250w Son-T Philips globe/ 250w JB ballast/ 125mm Cooltube/ 125mm fan for cooltube/ length of 125mm duct (Bunnings dryer stuff is safer for cooltubesand cheaper)/ then maybe a good small Centrifugal fan 100mm for grow area ventilation and a small carbon filter(100mmx 250mm). Thats everything you need for a well ventilated and well lit area. Peace. Nibbler.

I thought why not spend $100 extra and get a mylar tent 0.9x0.5x1.6 and a 400w hps..

 

But i'm really confused on what " fans to get adequate temps..

hooking up a carbon fiter simple?

 

I needed to go higher so why not a little more

Cured, to be honest if ya step up to a 400wer, just get a 1.2m x1.2m x 2m tent.....if ya can fit it in, the area is easier to control temps, small area-heat builds up fast.

Everything is really easy to hook up , theres some tent tutorials i've done in Tutorial submissions, and or Tutorials.

Spend the money, get what ya want...the first time, at least after if you decide on a bigger area, the tent etc, can become a Veg/Clone area. The smaller tent, well to be honest ya gonna spend a lot of time controlling the plants etc. Time best spent tokin. . You should get enuff from that size tent to keep ya happy too.
