been looking for info on optimal lighting for Autos.

I figured 24/7 would be best as it will continue to grow under constant light to give the best yeild possible the genetics can afford??

i remember reading the dark cycle plays a part. I just dont know what these Autos can do.

scholars seem to argue over the how early nutes question. Soil will always contain nutes and a seed will NORMALLY fall on soil then do its thing.

There would be a problem with exposing an early shoot to a strength of nute they arent ready for yet, starting at 1.2 then increacing by .2EC each week is advised.

Others crack a seed in tap water and only use the energy stored in the cotyledons to power its early development.

Id concider myself a naturalist; that is, in my totally unatural grow I try to mimimic natural systems as much as possible. So I soak my rockwell cubes in a dilute nute solution and let her sink her roots into that.

...and is that on every strain? I thought some strains were nute-sensitive, or is it that you give it to them from seed, so they get used to it easier?

I treat the Coco with 2 ml per liter of Coco A&B before they get dropped in. It's important to feed Auto's early and get them well established in those first 3 weeks, or you just won't get the best out of them. I have only recently started using Worm Castings at 50%, and from what I can see a lower E.C. is probably better when using the W.C.

So I will drop the level down to 1.5 ml per liter on the start from now on.

After that first set of true leaves come out and the second set start to kick in and you are using Coco without W.C. & no nutes then all you are doing is starving the plant.

 

When I first started using Canna Nutes, I followed the advice of a lot of people on this forum. (IE not feeding for the first 2 weeks, flushing with plain waterETC) and ended up with a sub standard product. So I started to follow the directions on the bottle of the Canna Nutes to the letter and continue to do so to this day & the results speak for themselves. The only thing I don't do is use Rhizotonic or Canna Boost. I use Seasol instead of Rhizo because its heaps cheaper and does just as good a job. You have to remember the people at Canna know this shit better than ANYONE and if you pretend you know better and do things differently then you are wasting your money and time.

 

Yeah Shroom forgot about the Worm Castings they make a big difference.

 

Cryzo the worm castings are basically worm poo. It's great stuff.
