Chillies

Recommended Posts

hi all,

i just joined up today, and found this thread, and it happens to be right up my alley,

Firstly i see the post about buying seeds... BE VERY CAREFUL on buying from ebay!!!

chillies cross pollinate and if plants are not isolated they more than likely will not grow true.. ( even if the pod the seeds come from looks right)

I started growing chilli years ago as an alternative to growing other stuff as chilli is legal :)

Over the years I have been learning more and more, and now grow around 40 different types and try growing different ones all the time..

everything i eat has chilli in it in way way or another. and i mean everything!

Lovely chilli plants Devilspine. I grow a few of the sweeter varieties in soil... not really into hot chillies. Sometimes, just for an extra colour in the garden, I'll put in a Purple Tiger.

Had a purple tiger for about a year before it crapped out, nice looking plant with pods that go from green to purple to red with variegated leaves. Pods aren't good for much ,but i don't really get into the heat that much, only actually eat a bit of chilli here and there. Like playing a few evil jokes on friends though..nothing like tequila that tastes like fire...
