400w hps help

hi all i have a cabinet 500w x 600 d x 1300 high can i use a 400w hps/mh in there with a cool tube with an ezyair 100mm fan to cool the tube ??????????????

this should tell you if you have the right size lamp. as for the rest well, i don't use a cool tube with my 400w even in summer. just make sure you keep all the ballasts out side the tent.

Yeah that will be fine mate.

But I don't think you'll have much room for a shade with those dimensions.

Have you already bought your cupboard?

Fire it all up for an hour or so with a thermometer in there and see how warm it gets. My guess is your probably gonna need a bigger fan for the cool tube. If it stays under 30 should be no worries,specially with winter coming up ,good luck

hi all modified cabinet and put cool tube at top of cabinet - just fitted and running now temps were at 32 but got down to 28 ish , think i need more circulation coming in to reduce temps ??????????????? any help

do you have an Intake?, gotta have air coming in somewhere, passive intake to match a 100mm fan would be about 100-150mm, so you keep negative pressure in the Cupboard. If the cupboard is raised, cut one in back at the bottom , on the opposite end to which the cooltube draws from, so you get cross flow.

That will sort your temps out easy, a vent cover over top and your done. Peace. Nibbler.

Here is an easier option, put the plants in a microwave for 3minutes on high. Same result.

Personally I'd be down sizing the light from 400w to 250w... the cupboard is only 50cmx60cm, 400w is overkill.
