$1 million drug raid

N a pre-planned operation, Murray Bridge police and CIB officers raided a cannabis crop worth more than one million dollars, 20 kilometres south-east of Yumali yesterday afternoon.

No-one was arrested, but numerous forensic samples were taken from the scene.

The crop was located in heritage scrub, a section of land farmers are not allowed to clear.

Murray Bridge CIB Detective Senior Constable Darren Niblett said the crop was "reasonably large" for the area, with more than 500 plants.

"It was quite difficult to spot, and unless you were doing a grid search of the area in a helicopter, you would have missed it," Detective Senior Constable Niblett said.

"It was a similar size crop to one in the same area located in 1990."

The cannabis plants were a few months away from maturity, about 1.2 metres tall.

at maybe 1/4 kilo each plant ... that's 125 kilos of Weed.

 

there you go .. grow your own weight in dope ...

& you're worth a million bucks.. ( that is if you're a hefty biker sized grower ,, he he ) & no doubt someone out there is ..

 

no wonder the bigger cash crop is tempting many ..to try it...

but then ... how many years behind bars do you get for one this big...

 

Ahhh it goes around & round ... the government keeps it illegal ...

the growers keep growing .... the police make their busts .... ( what a pity they can't sell any of it to recoup costs ... maybe they do )

the people still want their stash ... more growers come out of the woodwork .... the government spends money on the drug war .. the cops keep pulling up plants .... the growers keep growing ...

 

well , somethings gotta give ... I don't see the LAW winning this one at all.... it's a constant pushing shit uphill for those guys , the LAW is clearly wrong & against the peoples wishes ... they're fighting a losing battle ...

Stop wasting time & resources ... let us grow it for ourselves ... put the money into education & facilities... send the cops off to do more productive , rewarding community service.... they are public servants after all...
