Age of water

Recommended Posts

It will be ok. People in the bush have been DRINKING tank water for eons, and sometimes this water is way over 6 months old. Just keep any light out of it to stop algae growing, and stinking up everything. I have a 20ltr drum I fill and take to the shed, it's dark blue, so light isn't a problem. Let's know how it goes, growing should be mostly fun, though there are times when hard work is the only way out, bugger.

For 6 months no, for a couple of weeks with an airstone and a circulating pump in the tank.

The Good Reverand is quite right! Stick an airstone in it to help keep it oxygenated and she'll be right for yonks. ;)

Yep no light no algae, if you let it sit in the sun 48 hours prior to covering and placing in garage, you should be able to evaporate most the chlorine and other chemicals in the water (unless you're using rain water). This will help when using the water in your grow res.

But aslong as you have a separate res for the use of nutes, you'll be in the clear and the water can sit alot longer then 6 months, providing it's the right conditions.
