cant seem to grow for shit!

Recommended Posts

Every year i try and grow about 2 plants with limited success.

The plants are always tall, large spaces between leaves and buds.

Not sure where i am going wrong.

Also unsure the best time to harvest. Did it at easter last year and the buds were average and not potent.

Here are the two i have left now after males were removed.

All i need is approx 2 Oz a year.

Welcome to OzStoners, you're doing bloody well for someone who can't grow mate

From that info sounds like the main problem is you are harvesting too early.

What are they growing in and have you been adding any fertiliser?

Nothing wrong with those plants. If you do grow them to maturity and they are still not potent it is probably the strain.

Depends on the strain, but usually in the southern hemisphere it should be ready by the end of march early April. Have you tried feeding it seasol + powerfeed from Bunnings? the stuff is magic and you'll see a difference after one dose. I feed my mull plants once a fortnight but I usually increase it to once a week as it starts flowering, but if you keep a close eye on the plant you can tell what it needs, happy growing!

G'day CG.

If you are growing in containers, check out my grow diary for a soil mix. It's a bit of work to make, but works a treat, very open well drained soil. Buy a can of Go-Go Juice and a bottle of Rose Focus, from Bunnings. You will get change from $30 and are the 2 best investments you can buy. Also give them a good feed of Potash about once a month. I see you are on the Gold Coast so sun is the least of your worries. Next year start earlier, around Melbourne Cup day you should have well developed seedlings, ready to go. Maybe you need some better seed stock. I would check out what's available, choose carefully and add water. I've been doing this for over 30 years and it took a while until I saw a result worth crowing about. It's not hard to grow, but is hard to grow properly. From what I can see your plants look sorta like the Red Devil I have been growing, lots of small buds. Anyway, if you need any advice you can send me a PM.

P.S. I like to harvest around Easter. You need some sort of magnifier to check the trichomes, little things on the buds that look like mushrooms, sorta. When they go milky/dark you are in buisness.

With limited experience I would say to you, harvest your plants when the hairs on the heads are white and just starting to brown off.

It makes a difference to what type of effect you want from your plant.

Look around this site for the ifo, it's where I got mine from.

All the best.
