Yellow lower leaves .

I'm growing a few MJ plants in my yard . Strain unknown . They are just beyond the seedling stage (20-30cm) . The top's of them look pretty healthy but the lower 2-3 sets of leaves are yellow and are obviously dying ? Can anyone tell me whats wrong ? Pleeaase ! Is there a cure ?

It could be a number of things. Are those lower leaves getting direct sunlight or are they shaded by the top of the plant? If so this could be one cause. Tell us a little about your plants. Are they in pots? In the ground? How often are you watering them? What if anything are you feeding them?

 

Little more info and then we can diagnose your problem.

They do get sunlight . They are in 6" pots and are watered every 1 or 2 days . They were first fed Multi-crop Plant Starter at around 2 or 3 weeks and since then have only had one feed of Maxi-crop seaweed liquid fertilizer around 3 weeks ago. They are now 6-8 wks old .

Sounds like you should feed more regularly - every third watering is a good start and watch out for signs of salt residue [whiteness of the soil] to make sure you arent feeding too much or too often.

 

Also - upgrade your pot - 6" is too small for a plant thats a month old - a 30L bucket is good enough for ~2M plant - if its a non-Indica then go for a bin instead.

its a nutrient deficiency, one of the major ones , either P or K but I cant remember anymore.

Feed it some ferts.

 

and yeah upgrade your pot, that may also be the reason your plant is nutrient deficient, repot into nice rich soil.

Leaves are like food storage reserves, when a plant cant get enough nutrients from the medium it will use the food stored in the lower leaves, thats why they turn yellow and drop off.
