Greetings, being new to hydro growing, i was wondering if somebody could answer a question. Which is, i have noticed in a lot of photos of hydro grow rooms there appears to be some sort of silver foil tube going in between the plants. What is this?

Hi there gultom i think what you are talking about is called ducting we use it for extracting the hot air out and away from the grow area and, some ppl have what u call an air cooled hood and have ducting running off it ti get rid of some of the heat out of the grow area as HID lighting can give off a lot of heat, and it us used to vent freash air in the growchamber as well, as mj plants need freash air to aid in there growing, i hope this has helped u out and if not just ask away and ppl will help

DO you have a picture which shows the stuff you are talking about?

 

From the sounds of it, it sounds like ducting, it looks like a spring coated in foil, and it's used to funnel air around, usually for intake and extraction purposes as if you bend it it can block light.

 

It could also be water tubing or foil around the plants to help with reflection.
