Laws in Tas

Recommended Posts

This is Tassie, try 20yrs. ::P:

Hey don't be too hard on your home :P

I love that little state.

Also Tas went from being the most homophobic state in Oz to the most enlightened in only a matter of a few years. BTW the 'Spirit of Tasmania' arrived in Sydney harbour only a couple of days ago - looks like a great way to travel 'overseas' ;)

its amazing how a few good members of parliament can change a small state...after so many years of inept ones

Look at south australia ...from best laws in the country to some of the worst laws.....thankyou you fucked up politicians....

IM moving to western australia....:P

Took more that 12 years of fighting to get the laws changed and in the end it's only been due to the tireless fighting by Rodney Croome in the media etc., and the Greens in parliament. Rodney Croome still has to defend himself against a group of moronic bible bashing bigots in the "letters to the editor" sections of the Tassie papers, he had a letter in today telling them that they need to “stop quoting ancient, tribal anxieties about non-pro-creative sex to condemn loving, same-sex couples alive today”.

Despite the changes in the laws the people of Tasmania have not changed their attitudes, the town I live in has shown that. It's just like the whitewash our government is doing interstate and overseas on forestry here when in truth our native forest woodchip exports are usually higher in tonnage than all the other states combined.

usual story...bigots in the right wing dictate the state of play..look at johnnie howard and his cronies..heck look at all politics...for some reason the right always seems to be stronger.....

Bastards

While the labout leadership has had a change of central fgure I cant forgive mike rann in SA for changing the laws on pot to suit his electorate and screw everyone else..so now its instant criminal record for life

Well,

I gotta say Mr Croome is a fookin legend, and as an old poof who visits Tassie relatively often I have to say I have experienced more homophobia in central Sydney than anywhere in Hobart or the sorrounding towns. As I said before I love that little state, the people, the food, the wine, the weather.

Your right, I love TAS too its why I'm here. I love the west coast I lived there for 10yrs, probably go back 1 day, plenty of room to grow outdoor in the pristine wilderness that not too many people see. You get to enjoy the wilderness as well as tend the crop.

I seen Rodneys letter in the paper today also, I'm a green voter, and I'd love to see Bob get rewarded for all that he's done for the state over the past 20 years.
