decrim in aust?

Recommended Posts

I believe some states have already decriminalized marijuana and allow a few plants for personal use but I had a quick look around the web but couldnt find much. I suggest you start with google or something and see what you can find about current marijuana law in Australia and let us all know :P

There was nothing on www.cannabisnews.com which I'd expect if there was something big coming up. Maybe what you read was an old article - I found something that strongly suggested pot could be legalized in QLD by 1995 under the Goss government.

Here we are in 2004 and I still have to live with a certain amount of anxiety that sooner or later I'll be caught.

The ACT, SA, NT and WA are it as far as I know. The rest will likely follow, and they probably have informal warnings and other alternatives for personal-use possession - or at least the court fines are mostly on par with decrim.

WA's decrim should turn the tide for the other States, a lot of good research has been coming out of NDRI over the years comparing WA to SA etc. and you can bet that WA's decrim is going to be closely watched and researched in detail. We should see the first few papers coming out in 1-2 years, in fact they're compiling the latest user survey from a few months ago right now I think.

yep ... SA tightened up the grow laws ...

you are now allowed only one outdoor plant .. no hydro at all...

it used to be ten . then five ... folks were growing much more than they supposeedly could use ... with hydroplants ... the law suspects that a lot of it was being sold interstate ... which it was ... with grow coops being set up under the legal limit ... well , there's always going to be greedy people now
