Amen. I actually think he's great, aside from the goofyness Kids love him too.

But if you look at his daughter, it's obvious him and his wife are great parents. They may be a bit over the top about it, but if you're spending your life around crocs, then the kids need to be smart.

Your right O.M.M, wasn't one of his trained employees biten recently?.

 

I saw another story before this, where he was as proud as punch off his daughter for being biten by a snake, here's how he told it!.

 

He was driving along and there was a small(Harmless ) snake in the middle of the road, and steve being steve , he went to harrass it , he picked it up and gave it to his daughter to hold, she cradled it like a baby and it bites her in the face, steve tells her that she can't treat it like a baby, she said it's ok dad, continues rocking the snake , it bites her in the face again!, she is then biten a third time, by this point she has blood running on her face, she then told dad he could have the snake back now.

 

Steve discribed this as one of the proudest moments of his life.

 

I saw it as a horrible way for him to teach his child about animals, the little girls eye could have been damaged, maybe she could have lost it.

I think this whole thing has been a great display of how narrow minded some people can be (without wanting to offend anyone here, this isn't directed at you but more at those extremists calling child services etc to complain that he endangerd his child blah blah). In particular it struck a chord with mothers - the very thought of a 1 mo child being that close to a croc is terrifying.

 

The problem is people can't relate.. they put themselves in that same situation with their own child - of course they'd be horrified by this. What they don't seem to realize is that Steve's been doing this all his life and can read those ugly fuckers like a book.. every movement and he's pretty sure what it's going to do next. I've been to Aus. Zoo and seen him probably more on TV than I'd like too.

 

He's always fucking with them out of the water so they're slow.. in the water he'd be eaten real quick. Despite what he says I think he did it for the publicity and yeah as someone mentioned, this is how he gets high. You build up a tolerance after a while and need a stronger hit, sometimes it fucks you up. I'll end it with that nice little analogy ::

I must add that i too don't feel this is a police or Children Services matter,what did did was insane, but not abusive, the guy did it for the public but , so he deserves the media attention.

 

 

I have a lot of animals, some scare me, i know how to get around them with saftey, never been biten, but i can tell you one thing i'd never take any of my kids in there, as has been said , one slip . He should teach his kids by example(show them)kids learn by watching, at least till they are a bit older, what lesson can a 4 week old baby learn?

i agree with many of you! I am a canadian who watches steve time to time. I found this to be pretty stupid! all that would have had to happen was steve tripping on a root or rock, that croc would snatch that baby up faster then steve catching himself!!!!!!! Whata stupida boy!!!!

I think everyone knows in the back of there minds that this has been blowen out, due to fame... but sure he shouldnt have fed the crock while naturing his child.. and sure he shouldnt have even have had, the kid in the crock pen.. but its his business.. he knows his shit..

an with his experiance understand the limits he can push..

Let's face it he did this not to "Nature" his child, he did this as publicity in front of camera's, while his attention was half diverted by speaking to the media and crowd.

 

Secondly as i said one of his experienced trained staff was bitten on the leg not to long ago, animals are by nature unpredictable and the croc must have quite a quick mind to have been around since the dinasaurs.
