no its not too late but because you have started so far behind Id fertilise em very often to maximise their growth and thus you still might get some massive plants to flower for ya

...Tis a little late...but in nsw you should still be ok.

I'd like to have seedlings going already if I were U, but you'll still do ok.

Cause the average temps are higher this time of year, they really do grow quickly. Are U in a frost prone area? - if so what Month do they usually start in? That would be your only real problem, frost before they're ready- otherwise you'll definately get some nice bud!

..Hope this helps

..Well your laughing then fellow grower zell. MJ loves the temps up there, so good luck with it. What strains u ordered??

..Where I live there can be 4 seasons in 1 day any time of the year (no it's not Melbourne!!). That's why I mentioned the Frost thing. Places in NSW still get Frosts around late April into may - especially inland......Which will be round the time your plants will be finishing.........peace

AFAIK, no. It's often been postulated that the opposite is true, that resin on the plant is a sunscreen of sorts, helping the plant to deal with high temps and high light levels of the late summers in it's native environments, (sw china, nepal, afghanistan area).... Still, there's no real knowledge out there which definitively explains the presence of the oil in the plants, let alone the reasons why it's more prevalent in unfertilised females more than fertilised plants, (surely a seeded plant would need more protection through such substances than an unfertilised one? Just an example there...) and why these oils are particularly psychoactive in carnivorous mammals. Fact is, we just don't know a heck of a lot about the taxonomy and growing of these plants, particularly given the illegality associated and through that the impedence to proper botanical and taxonomic investigation of the species.

Low temps in flowering can stimulate production of anthrocyanin which gives plants a purple/red appearance. This isn't necessarily an increase in thc or other cannabinoid production, it just looks funky. :P Purple strains and cultivars turned purple through cold treatment are usually considered harsher than their non-purple counterparts, but a good curing should fix that... :P

...Well i'm not sure 'bout this 1. I do know UV light can destroy THC though. I had some plants last season that got a lotta shade Just after the hottest part of the day when flowering (got more sun in veg), and they were so bloody potent, even now (8mths ago) the buds are extremely potent.....Don't be fooled....MJ doesn't need super long periods of Direct sun - especially when Finishing.......The shade leaves on MJ are there for a Purpose.......
