Going after Saddam was different. They already had a similar public enemy no.1, the Arab.

 

The US doesn't have anything else to go into NK for other than the oppressive regime, NK aren't affecting anyone else therefore if the US invade it will be infringing on 1 country's rights. As stupid as that sounds, NK haven't attacked the US or any other country, so why invade them?

 

So basically there's no decent excuse to the UN or anyone as to why the US should invade NK unless NK get's mightily more evil than they are now.

 

Saddam was just an easy target to get revenge for the Arab organised 911, and for the Gulf War Daddy revenge excuse, George W flexing his muscles after the embarrassment to his family that 911 was.

 

I'm actually surprised they finally found Osama, I thought old age would've killed him first, leaving a legacy that would haunt the US forever.

 

I still have the Saddam hanging video saved 'cos you just don't get to see an evil dictator finally scared for their own life, very often.

That pretty much sums up what I think Anakha. Oil plain and simple. The Saudi Family have made a lot of money selling their oil to America and the relationship between the 2 has worked really well for the USA over the years when oil prices have jumped and the USA have needed someone to place pressure on to at least soften the price a little, but we all know that situation remains shakey to say the least with the family fighting amongst itself and the never ending threat of being overthrown. Iraq has a chit load of oil and would provide The US another oil alliance in the middle east - well I think that was the plan but I'm not too sure that will work out the way they had hoped.

 

As for what would happen if the US decided to invade Iran or Syria, Whatever happens there will be ugly and very scary for the rest of the world. Although I'm starting to think the US might not need to do anything with Iran, Israel seem's to be ready to bomb the place if there is any evidence Iran are building a nuke.
