This is a bit of a wake up call for me. I have ordered seed a few times with my own credit card, but sent to a PO box. I have also ordered items off eBay as well.

 

Allow me to apologise, especially to gh72 for my paranoid call. I was wrong and have been very blasé and reckless.

well i gets a knock on the door at 7:40pm and what do ya know its the popo just a guy and a chick they asked me the same shit customs asked me and i gave them the same story even offered to take a pic of the gamertag of the guy that i said sent them they didnt want it just wanted me to sign something that allows them to check my bank details without them geting a warrant i said sure i got nothing to hide i asked what happens now they said if i dont have any suspicious activity on my bank statement they will send me a letter but if they do find something on there i could expect a visit from them again so im the clear now bummed about the seeds but its working out good there is no way i can get seeds till my friend gets out and that should be a long enough period for the shit to cool down even if they want to watch my house and i can spend this time growing vegies or something without being worried about the law.

the cops were pretty nice about the whole thing which i didnt expect gave me a lecture about not trusting ppl i dont know and not giving my adress out so ppl can send me illigal crap i just noded away.

 

craping on a bit more here,seems that they need more then just seeds to get a search warrant.

 

@chefchef mate use the money send option or something that cant be tracked to u or ur bank accounts and then if they ever find ur orders which i hope wont happen just deny blame it on the itertnet dont think they can check ur story out if some guy from some chat or some forum sends something all they can do is trace our electronic money

and if ur crumb trail is clear then they wont have nothing to charge u with.

How were they sent, stealth or super stealth or just regular?

 

That sucks balls Nymph, let us know how ya go. Maybe start a thread and give it alot of detail (not personal) so when others ask "what happens if customs busts my seeds" then we have an up to date thread on it.

Heya Chef Chef =) , its all good man, but your right, even experienced growers have been caught out by being Blase and reckless. Sometimes it's just REAL bad luck, but most of the time it's leaving a trail, no matter how silly it seems. Also Chef, thankyou, no need for apologies man, we all in this shit together =) .

 

OK,Doesnt mean ya have to run round the house in a tin foil hat. . But does mean taking precautions.

I will list some basic ones here, but I may if I have time do a thread on what I like to term "Risk Management" , this encompasses all areas of growing and the little things ya gotta keep on top of, if ya wanna keep in the game, from seed ordering to periodicaly checking your equipment.

Risk Management works in buisness and the same principals can be applied to growing.

 

For now here are some seed ordering tips suggest ALL people who order follow............

 

1) Ordering- use only seed sites that are reputable and have https pages/security.

 

2) You can buy pre-paid credit cards-Use them, any link between you and the seeds that has $$$, traced to your account, is automatic evidence of Importation of Seeds.

 

3) Find a safe address, if friends or family, DO NOT do it without their permission. NEVER send to your grow address.

 

4) When you order you can purchase and provide details, but ALL good seedbanks will have an option for a delivery name and address- Be Creative, dont use real ID if possible. If you have to sign for it- scribble. registered mail should maybe be not used, this requires reciever to sign with ID sometimes and for pick up.

 

5) Parcel tracking- dont make enquiries, just wait, if ya dont get em after a month, contact seed bank and Politely ask them to re-send order. They will check then, if they were seized ya shit outta luck, if not they will take care of you, they want return buisness.

 

6) After you get your order , mark it Return To Sender- Not at this address. Leave on the bench or fridge for a week, just in case, then open it.

 

7) Do not post Stealth or details of your order, you dont want to mess up everybody elses order or maybe provide a link to yours.

 

8) Do not become aggresive with the seed bank if order is late/wrong etc, be nice and they'll make it up to you.

 

9) Relax, seed ordering should be an enjoyable experience, after all, there are sooooo many to choose from.

 

10) Re-read the above until you know it by heart. =)

i went with the super stealth option and ill write up that thread today it would be usefull as every one always wonders what will happen if customs bust ur order.
