Carbon filter and Fan cfm Question

Hi all,

 

I have a quick question with regards to carbon filter and fan cfm.  I have a 6" 440cfm carbon filter and a friend gave me his 6" 192cfm fan and I was wondering if I can use these together?  The space is only 4'x 3'x 5' so would these work together?  Don't really want to spend the money on a new filter if it's not needed....

Heya Niki, If the fan flows 192cfm and the carbon filter flows 440cfm, it be fine, if ya need, can step the fan up to a bigger one if needed. Nothing beats good airflow, so get the ventilation sorted, put the lights in, measure some temps after a few hours and see how ya go. A 250w HPS be good in that space. Peace. Gh72

Hi Nici,

I agree with GH it should work fine. The problem would be if your fan was trying to move more air than your filter was able to handle and with the info you have given, you shouldn't have any hassles

As for the light, there was an "easy to find" calculator with light vs fan vs room size in Cannaversity but I've just had a look and can't find it. Now this could be cos I'm stoned, Highly possible in fact.

But can someone tell me where it is?Please.
