dragonlady
Hi all, have a few seedlings bout three months ranging from 2 inches to 6 inches high, the height varience is mainly due to growing some in half day shade because our neighbours have a garage roof with a few deckchairs that they like to survey the yards around from (including ours hence growing in semi shade)Anyway the plan is to wait until they're big enough then take'em indoors, turn 'em and take clones from the ladies assuming I get some! So the questions are , at bout what size is good and whatt's the soonest you can sex them without the boys pollinating the girls?thanks
Tom
I would start indoors from scratch, the plants you have are not doing very well as after 3 months they should be almost trees. If you want to save on power then start them off under some compact fluoro's and stick them under the grow lights when they become established. There are some links in my signature that cover pictures of male, female and hermie plants. Another problem with moving plants indoors is that you will also be moving a few bugs with them, into an ideal breeding environment.
dragonlady
Thanks for your input, Taz , the trouble is that our last crop of clones snuffed it a few months ago and we were given these seedlings and the old man (the only smoker in the house) is getting desperate so must use what I have at the moment. Any ideas about my previous post much appreciated
wade ounce
hi dragon lady. i'm sorry to say this but Taz is right. they really should be heaps bigger. i have female pure indica growing outdoors. they are only 6 weeks old and are now 2 ft tall. you really shoul start again. they'res still plenty of time to get yourself some nice ounces. summer solstice was only a coupla days ago. if you were to persists with these stunted plants you will end up with less yield anyway. last year, which was a cooler summer than this year i put some seeds in on xmas day. at harvest time i ended up with no less than 8 oz's a plant. go on. get em in! ps start preparing your fulltime growing medium now. The key question is, where do you plant to finish them, inside or outside? I would tend to clone them all when they get a bit bigger, then when they flower you can decide which clones to keep. In terms of pollination, you need to get males out of there before their balls can release any pollen. You have to be quick, check em every day. dragonlady
Yeah I'm planning on finishing them indoors to keep the old man from losing his shit when he runs out....so whats the procedure for going from outside dirt to inside hydro or should I keep 'em in soil under lights? Our water is very salty and loaded with chlorine because of the drought and such and we wers buying purified water which cost heaps but the clones still died. I suspect it was heat but as the other half is officially in charge of the grow ,my suggestions are usually ignored
