Bore water & Electrical Conductivity

Recommended Posts

Hey Gang,

Just bought myself an EC and ph meter.

Now, my problem is: my tap water is bore water, which is hard water? and has an EC reading of 0.7. I checked this against some filtered water which correctly read 0.

The Ph is 7.

According to my feed chart, at this stage, i should have an EC of 1.5.(Im growing in soil) But when I add the prescribed amount of nutes to the water, my EC reading is around 2.4, 2.5. Im not too worried about this...the babies dont seem to mind, but am just wondering whether I should be chasing the correct EC reading, or just keep going by measurement. :scratchin:

Any thoughts?

Peace

Ya should be chasing the correct EC readings mate......to many salts in the water will hurt the plants.

You should add enough nutes to get to ya EC of 1.5!!.. I use town water and the EC is 0.1-0.2 so i have to allow for that

Another option for ya is to get a water distiller...or buy a shit load of r/o water lol

lol wiet
