hi fellas and ladies,

 

new to this forum and can i say wicked site... have a few plants going outdoors this year but am having some small troubles with 2 of my plants.. they have been thriving hard up until a week ago when the leaves started to go a rust brown colour on the edges not all only 30% ... also have noticed some spots appeaaring on leaves and that the lower floage is dieing off slowly, the tops and middles are healthy as hell but the bottoms are not.. have attached some pics if someone could point me in the right direction wouild be muchly appreciated....

could be burn (2 much heat, not enough water. Did they look wilted @ any stage before the browning ?)...could b magnesium deficiency...looks like burn 2 me...but there are a lot of variables in the whole process...good luck Edited January 16, 2012 by space cadet 101

the biggest of my plants wilted hard for a day or 2 but with some tlc came back... it has some browining of leaves, but seems to be the 2 smaller ones that have most the browning and they have never wilted on me at all....going to repot them in 2 days fresh potting mix, and have made up some chrons super juice that will start feeding them when i repot.. will take some photos in a week and see how they looking.... cheers for the help.... got a feeling myself that it is a nutes deficency of some sort

Gotta ask.... why did you go for an orchid mix?

 

Orchid mix is usually an acidic bark (eg pine or spruce), peat or spagnum and coarse sand... wouldn't have thought it an ideal mix for weed. Unfortunately my net is shaped to 7kb/s so I can't open the pics, but I suspect if you haven't supplemented with calcium and magnesium, your choice of medium might be causing you some problems.

I say orchid mix but is a mix of orchid, seedling and rose mix seems to work well for me ..i do use supliments but only occassionally dont like them being relient on constant nutes.. have been folage spraying at nite seems to be picking up slowly.... spose prob my own fault my beliefe is treat em mean to get the green .....

The plants are becoming deficient in N and trace elements, soil not great, time to make it nutes every watering as they are hungrier now and every 2nd is not enough bro. Edited January 16, 2012 by diamondpatch

I suppose you eat only every second or third day so you're not too reliant on a constant supply of nutrients as well?

Yep, you are right the problem here is grower error.

If you were right and lou lou was wrong your plants would be healthy.

 

As you say they are defficent in N but it's not just N they need. They just need a good feed. Chron's super sauce will fix them

 

Treat them mean and affect the yeild is the reality, it doesn't keep them green as your pics prove.

What test did you do that told you that?
