I think regardless of our differences in opinions on the factors involved and the timeframe for the legalisation of Medical Marijuana we can all agree that Sativex and the way Copelands mob intend to utilise it (Cannabis withdrawal) is an absolute disgrace................Wouldnt it be great if we were focusing on the best ways of delivering cannabis to MS sufferers, Glaucoma sufferers etc etc etc instead of this charade........

I don't wholly disagree with your previous posts, Anakha

 

It's probably both a public/private partnership (government + pharma company) and a way to use the new found medicinal cannabis research but in the opposite direction. Quitting drugs instead of having shops legally selling them.

 

As a person who has lived with heroin addicts and dealt with them for many years (average users and criminal junkies), the methadone programme is exactly that.

 

The problem with the methadone program is that it's:

 

a) swapping drugs

not run or regulated properly

 

Most of the methadone users that I've come across have been on it for many years, and their dose is nearly the same as when they started the program. Whether this is because they lie to maintain the dosage level so they stay as "pinned" or it could because the nurses don't care that this person should be weaning themselves down over the years to eventually nothing. To eventually be free from their habit.

 

Maybe that's why the Government would prefer to use the recent medicinal findings to combat the "cannabis problem"? With "evidence" like his, it's no wonder if they thought Cannabis was as bad as Heroin.

 

Maybe they don't want a bunch of stoners walking into a Cannabis clinic getting "dosed" every day, maybe they see dispensaries as useful in the future as the current methadone clinics?

 

Maybe they don't want to make that mistake again?

Oh and if anyone does a little googling of Tersa Ursich you'll find that the "testimonials" on her book website are from her friends and family and some of them haven't even read the book.

 

The link below is quite amusing in that you can tell how she came to these conclusions about weed so easily. I would bet that she didn't feel important, felt insecure, grew up in a religious family so still has those teachings that parents love to pass on to their young, easily influenced children.

 

The fact that she so willingly refers to her "Knight in shining armour" gives me the impression that she is still mentally living below her age, with dreams that most girls leave behind once they turn 18 and enter the real world.

 

She moved states a few times so she probably didn't have a good steady job to keep her in the same state/city, was she a housewife? Did she feel lonely and bored? Is that why she felt like she needed weed? Because "her life felt so empty"?

 

her facebook page just screams "attention-seeker" so maybe she hasn't had a good job over these years? Maybe this is her only chance to earn her own way?

Her weak will is probably what got her into drugs in the first place, that and peer pressure. Because weed isn't the reason people do harder drugs, their friends are. Ask any addict who gave them their first shot and I bet you 99% of them will mention a friend, hardly any one of them progress to harder drugs by seeking it out themselves, especially if their friends aren't doing harder drugs.

 

This woman may be Australia's equivalent to "A Million Little Pieces"

JAN.....the dumb *#%@, ....has openly admitted that cannabis with a higher level of CBD....has therapeutic benefits

 

now, to me, that seems to open up a lot of doors for things like section 417 of the crimses act 1900 .....where out sxcuse was that we were growing to find the desired CBD level

Dopeland has said the low CBD is good in a metered dose, administered via ORAL spray for Cannabis withdrawal ( not smoking / growing your own weed)

Dopeland realise now that she cannot argue against Cannabis' medical benefit

 

So she is doing her best to control and oversee the only acceptable legal form of Cannabis, namely 'Sativex'

Dopeland will help introduce Aust. to GW Pharmecuticals wonderous new drug, Sativex

 

effectively taking away the defence of the home- Canna-grower that he/she is growing Cannabis plants for Medical reasons! ... You dont have to grow your own sonny , Just go to Drs. and get Sativex prescribed

 

this heading the same way the opium poppy went , just try growing opium pooppies for your pain relief and you will be before the courts and told to get on the Methadone Program! ...

I agree with what you said. This is nothing more than a trial to satisfy the government bureaucrats in order to release Sativex to the market.
