Help Sick Plant

Recommended Posts

Hey tugboat, check out my last grow in my sig, it's got some shots of some adjustable drippers I used in there I think.... somewhere :D

These ones could be adjusted from 1L/h to 10L/h, and they were great. One thing with drippers tho, I give them a preventative clean out with hot soapy water once a month or so, just to make sure they don't block. Nothing worse than leaving the grow and finding out they've only gotten 1/2 or 1/3 the water they were supposed to because the salts blocked up the drippers...

Just a tip for ya. You can get em at any bunnings or irrigation store. :)

Thanks Taz / Luke.

I've now set up the semi automated drip watering system. Seems to be working OK :D

Got myself a water storage container and some irrigation bits n pieces from Bunnings & Big W.

A couple of pics:

Fist up, a pic of the reservoir and my trusty PET bottle feeding some 19mm polypipe

It then joins a 13mm polypipe watering ring fitted with a couple of drippers. I didn't have much fun getting the drippers attached without the 4mm offtakes leaking. I am new to setting up irrigation but does anyone else have problems with the offtakes leaking. I tried both threaded and standard barbed offtakes - same problem. Maybe the softer 13mm pipe would prevent this I dunno. Anyway I just taped them up a bit which stopped most of the leaking and it drips into the pot anyway.

I ended up getting some variable flow drippers that seem to work pretty well.

Oh yeah. You may have noticed that I changed mediums. I repotted up to a larger pot and filled the top and bottom with expanded clay.

She seems to have taken the move well and hasn't looked better. The tray under the pot is to catch the runoff from waterings which will be placed in the garden outside (nothing goes to waste round ere)

Thanks again Taz / Luke. Watering has never been such a breeze. Now I have to think of another excuse to sit and look at Victoria Very Berry.

I shall continue her progress in a grow thread / diary I'll start shortly. I think she is almost ready for 12/12.

:D Tugboat :)
