House full of hydro burns!

Recommended Posts

Yeah, precaution is better than reliance on a piece of paper from a group of people who's entire job is to NOT pay out... ;)

But I'm not sure, unless it's specifically proven that the fire was directly caused by the equipment in question... and if there's no evidence left of any illegal substances, then you could easily claim you were a home grown veggie nute, OCD or sumptin... anyway, if it wasn't written in there specifically I'm not sure they could use it as an excuse not to pay out... particularly if you'd specifically insured those contents...

Course, I know little to nothing about it... surely someone here will find this post and have the answers we seek. B)

I know someone who's worked in the insurance industry for a while and they rekon that the insurance company is bound by the policy, ie) whats in the booklet you get. Mine doesn't say anything about cover being void if an illegal activity was the cause/contributor of the fire. As someone said you could say you were growing tomatoes as a hobby or something and probably get away with it. In a lot of cases if there's a chance you can win if you just push they'll give in eventually.
