Lucky 2011/2012 outdoor grow (needs a little bit of help though)

Recommended Posts

Didnt think id get a chance to grow this year however managed to snag a free plant from a mate whose been growing up the side of his house for last month or so and because of a new room mate had to get rid of it. The plant doesnt look like it was getting heaps of sun and hasn't really branched out much only grown upwards. I repotted it into a slightly bigger pot as the old one was pretty tiny and got some nutrients to give it while its still in veg to give it a boost. Just thought id post up some pics of it and see what everyone thinks, any input as what to do from here would be greatly appreciated.

Nice :) doesn't look too bad for a plant that wasn't getting much sun :)

Just give it as much sun now as you can , eventually the pot will need to be upgraded again or you might wanna pop her in the ground .

Let her grow natural for a few weeks then once she's settled in you can consider topping or pinching the side branches so she bushes up a bit .

But so far so good :)

Yeah I was thinking of topping it, just repotted it today so want it to get settled first. If it was me I would of topped it a while ago after 3rd or 4th node, my mate just topped it recently although Im not exactly sure if he knew what he was doing cause it looks like hes kinda just gone to town and snipped of whatever branches he thought needed it. I want to keep it on the smaller side of things and keep it somewhat bushy. Would it be better for me to tip it or tie it down at this stage? Have been considering tying it down but I have never attempted this in previous grows may have to give it a go though.

mate looks good ,i think you will find it wont get monster size ,looks 50/50 to me deff more on the indi side....bit leggy aswell, prob from stretching for the sunlight ,has it preflowered yet ..got that boy look to it ,hope im wrong..

mate id let it go like DD reconed...let it settle in at least a week before tippin..expesially if ya just repoted (no point stressing it even more)

let em go for cuppla weeks and repeat if ya want more tops...or just cropp what ya got to keep canopy even and down low...(i dont see it being better tyed down as its already topped)...

end of the day have some fun try some things out ,great pressie ..xmas came early for you..best of luck ..Hydge

Thanks for the replies guys, definatly gonna let it get settled in first before i do anyhting drastic. Im not sure about its gender yet, saw one tiny little female looking thing coming through but not 100% yet. I agree with you though hydgemite does have that male look to it. hopefully not though and ill get a lil something off it by early next year.

Heya FDL , have you considered an outdoor ScrOG? Chuck it in the ground later after it fills new pot with roots, plant on a 45 degree angle, and then tip once growth shoots skyward, then put in 4 posts and a screen , train the branches, spreading them across the screen, and you will get a bumper crop of nice buds, just a thought......

Enjoy ya outdoor grow. Gotta agree with Hydgey, she don't look really sati, so she should not get too big, if ya use the ScrOG, it wont matter, will stay about 20cm higher than the screen after flowering. Enjoy.................... Peace, Gh72
