Police charge eight after drug raids

West Australian police have seized more than 200 grams of methylamphetamine in a series of raids and charged eight people.

 

The state's Organised Crime Investigations and Gang Response units raided the Perth and Kalgoorlie properties.

 

Police said they found cannabis, dexamphetamines and items believed to be pyrotechnics.

 

Kevin Ross Smith, 44, of Kalgoorlie, faced Kalgoorlie Court of Petty Sessions charged with conspiring to supply methylamphetamine and possessing unlicensed firearms.

 

He was also charged with four counts of selling a prohibited drug; with possessing methylamphetamine with intent to supply, and with possessing cannabis and hashish.

 

 

 

 

 

He was bailed to reappear in the same court on December 19.

 

As a result of raids in Perth, a Victoria Park man, aged 45, was due to appear in Perth Court of Petty Sessions charged with selling a prohibited drug.

 

A second Victoria Park man, aged 34, will appear in the same court on a date to be set, charged with conspiracy to supply methylamphetamine.

 

A 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, both from Cloverdale, will appear in Perth Court of Petty Sessions on Friday on charges of possessing methylamphetamine with intent to supply.

 

A 24-year-old Queens Park man charged with possessing methylamphetamine will face the same court, as will a 28-year-old Kewdale woman charged with possessing a prohibited drug and possessing methylamphetamine with intent to supply.

 

A Queens Park man, 44, charged with cultivating cannabis and possessing methylamphetamine is to appear in Perth Court of Petty Sessions on January 21.
