Joint venture nabs drug suppliers

Recommended Posts

THIRTY-one people have been arrested and $3.5 million worth of property seized after cannabis suppliers were successfully targeted by a combined Queensland and NSW police operation.

Queensland Police started Operation Bravo Chilly in June focused on the production and distribution of cannabis between north Queensland's Whitsunday area and northern NSW.

Police said today a total of 83 drug and property offences had resulted from the operation so far and investigations were continuing.

State Crime Operations Command Detective Acting Chief Superintendent Kev Robinson said the operation had been successful in identifying cannabis producers.

Supt Robinson said property seized included a yacht in North Queensland and financial assets and rural properties in Queensland and NSW.

Almost 2,000 cannabis plants were seized on one NSW property last month when police also located a further 2.9kg stash of cannabis.
