"TOUGH new cannabis and proposed prostitution laws are driving people towards harder drugs and organised crime, Western Australia's opposition says.

Under former WA Labor government laws, possession of two outdoor plants or up to 30g of cannabis resulted in a $150 spot fine and no criminal charge.

The current Liberal-National government tightened the laws in July, punishing possession of 10g or more of cannabis with up to two years' jail or a $2000 fine."
